We have very complicated events linked a repair workflow. So we want to use a filmmaker layout. We want to allow users to get to the layout via the calendar but without opening the web viewer popover, but we don't want it to open in a modal window as happened when configuring the load sources script. We want it to work in the same way as the action button works that is by changing layouts in the main window.

Can we do this ... we are trying to avoid click to open popover, click on gear wheel , click on button

Many thanks

Great question, Simon.

When you specify to open events in a new window using the "Load Source Settings..." script, it tells the calendar to run the "Show Event Details From WebViewer" script when creating/modifying an event.

You could modify that script to navigate to the Event Details layout and display the event by the event ID, rather than drawing a new window. The "Show Event in Calendar" button would then also need to be modified so that the calendar doesn't try to open the popover when navigating back to the event.

This requires quite a bit of script modification/customization. If you'd like help with these modifications, we offer implementation packages where we can schedule a screen-share or complete the customization for you. Packages can be used for consulting, coaching, or modifications like these and start at blocks of 3 hrs for $190/hr. When the time comes, you can use this link and, with a day or two notice, we can schedule some time to work with you:

Hope that helps!
