Is there a way to print a large text box across several pages? I currently have other text boxes wrapped around the large text box, and have a "slider" along the right side of the large text box for monitor viewing. I am trying to print this so that if the text box has more than what is visible in it, it will wrap to another page. Is this possible?
Thanks.
Dave

Sure Dave. You'll just need a second layout- one that is just for printing. The scroll bar you have on your text box now is great for data entry, but for printing, you'll want to switch to a new layout where the text box is very long- long enough to accommodate any possible text you could foresee in it- print from that layout and the return to your data entry layout.
A few things to keep in mind. Such printing layouts can only be about 11 pages long, so if you think the text in one field might be longer than that, you should think about splitting the text into more than 1 field, or storing the text as a text file (or Word document) inside a container field (FileMaker 7 only). You'll also want to search FileMaker's built in help for "sliding" and read the first few entries. These will describe how to collapse the unused space in big text fields like this. Hope that is good news. John John Sindelar
