It works great to insert a pdf in the a container field as a QuickTime file, but I can't figure out how to print the entire document. Are you aware of a way to do this?

No. I believe you have to print the "document" not the layout containing it, meaning you'd need to open it in a PDF reader (Acrobat, Preview, etc.) and then print it. =(
