Using 8.5 can I have a web screen that will use my Submit button not the button of the left margin?

In IWP any number of actions will "submit" a record. So you can hide or hide/lock the status area on the left hand side and use your own button to submit the record. Script steps like "Commit Record / Request" and "Enter Browse Mode" work well.

Call the script step "Show/Hide Status Area" selecting "Hide" and optionally "Lock". You can do this in the file's startup script.
