i am wondering if anyone knows of a solution to convert a filemaker to a vcard file for importing into OS X address book. I have found 2 on versiontracker but they are not working.

Try VCF Export by Ryo Sode. You can download it from FileMaker XSLT Library. OS X Address Book complains on some problems when it imports .vcf generated by this translator, but it yet works well.
