Missing Table

I'm new to FM Pro 7 and setting up relationships for the first time. Suddenly, my only table in my main data file shows as <Missing Table> in all of my Layouts. When I go back into the "Define relationships" area, it shows the correct table name, having 36 fields and 779 records, which is what it should be. Also, the file size is 524K, which makes me think the missing table is still there somewhere, but I can't find it. I tried the recover process, but the table still shows as missing in every layout, and in layout and browse modes, it shows 0 records.

I must have done something wrong in specifying the relationships with two of the other tables I wanted to relate to, but I really hope I can get my table back somehow, because unfortunately I've added a lot of data since the last time I backed up.

Any help would be appreciated enormously. Thanks in advance for any efforts.

Firstly, feel free to send the file if you're really worried: you can email it to john at seedcode.com

I'd check the base table for the layout(s) on which you see the <missing table>. On one of those layouts go into layout mode, select "Layout Setup..." from the "Layouts" menu. There is a place to select the table occurrence to "Show Records From". This is a list of table occurrences (TOs) meaning items on your graph, not the underlying tables themselves.

My guess is that you deleted a table occurrence used on these layouts but the actual table is still there. Simply select the appropriate table occurrence in the "Show Records From" section, or create a new TO for the table your layout should reference and then specify it in the "Show Records From" selection.

HTH.

Thanks very much for your suggestions. You were correct, fortunately for me. The table was still there. It seems I do need to go back into each layout and "Specify field" for each field, but that's far better than having to try to track down and reenter all the data. I appreciate the help.
