I have a client with a relatively simply two file database, Companies and Products.

In the Companies file there is a portal layout which used to print the Company’s products. The portal shows 300 records with the contents set to slide up and reduce size of enclosing part.

The records print fine up to and including six pages. If a company’s products go to a seventh page or more then the first page contains only a ‘smeared’ version of the first two or three products and all the rest of the pages are blank.

The layout has title footers and headers and ‘normal’ headers and footers.

I have tried adjusting these and even removing them completely but it still won’t print more than six pages properly.

Would be grateful for any advice on this one.

This is definitely something we've run into before; unfortunately I don't have any advice except to try and fool around with it until you get there. You could also try printing from a layout without portals, perhaps using some text fields or calcs to replace some of the portal data.
