I had to do a clean system installation the other day and iCal Subscription has stopped working ever since. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I have been through the installation guide and everything seems to be there and configured.

I generally open the URL in FireFox to see what's being returned. And I'd check that the FileMaker file you're working on has xsl and xml extended privileges set up. Same with the server: is XML publishing on. Etc.

Hi,
Subscribing Filemaker to iCal is working weirdly again. The URL http://yourserveripaddress/fmi/xsl/vcal/ccical.xsl?-db=cccalendar&-lay=vcal-find&-grammar=fmresultset works fine, but the URL http://yourserveripaddress/fmi/xsl/vcal/ccical.xsl?-db=cccalendar&-lay=vcal&ApptType=Urgent&-find&-grammar=fmresultset does not return anything. Any ideas what may be wrong. |

ApptType field possibly not on the layout?

No problem; glad we got it. These things can be hard to debug as xml publishing is so "silent".

John:
Do you know if FMP 12 server will still allow iCal subscriptions using this method? I now get an error stating that the URL cannot be found. The requested URL /fmi/xsl/vcal/ccical.xsl was not found on this server. I have checked and the ccical.xsl file is located in what used to be the correct location. Thanks for any advice. --> Rusty |
Hi Rusty,
FileMaker 12 has discontinued XSLT web publishing. CWP supports XML and PHP only. Here's a link with a few posts from folks who know more about this than us: http://filemaker.463488.n4.nabble.com/F ... 57234.html Hope that helps, -Jason |
