Hi Jason,

just wondering if you have an idea what is going on:
Suddenly when I drag and drop or just simply change the date of an appointment from one project it also moves various events from other unrelated projects around.
Our whole calendar is getting messy, as we can't keep track of when the appointments actually happened.
When I try to move a wrongly moved appointment back to where it came from, it also moves the appointment that was correctly moved back.
Mostly it moves appointments on the same day, but it also moves other appointments around.

I worked out, that it has to do with the field "z_LinkedWithinProject", when it is a 1 (one) it keeps moving other events, while if it is empty it doesn't.
I have removed the 1 from all records, but that is obviously not the correct solution.

I am at a loss why this is suddenly happening, as I haven't touched the programming for quite a while and I don't think I have ever touched these parts anyway. It just started to go wrong in the last couple of days.

Any idea where to look would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Regine

Hi Regine,

Not sure. The "z_LinkedWithinProject" field is what "chains" events together in the Project schedule, so moving one will move others, but should only be within the project itself. The field shouldn't be checked to events that aren't associated with a project.

Typically these get applied using process templates according to fixed rules, but you can apply them manually in the gantt chart or Project schedule. Are you using these in some places? If not, you may want to disable it altogether.

hth,
Jason
