Single File or Multiple Files

I love the concept of Calendar Complete and have recently purchased it and imported everything that I need from a contact management standpoint. I currently also have a separate operations database that I have put together to run my business and I would like to incorporate it into the CC format with the same look at feel.
My questions are twofold:
1. Should I combine the two files together or run with them separately linking the two together. This is the over-riding question and one I need to answer before I move forward.
2. If I combine the two files together, I can import the tables and data into the CC file and set up the relationships just as I have in the original operations. This I understand how to do easily enough; however, how do I create new layouts in the CC file so that they have the same menu/tab systems across the top?
For example, I would like to just copy the 'guts' of the layouts of the operations file and paste them into the CC new tabs that I can create (so that the look and feel of the layouts is consistent) I could just copy an existing layout within CC and change what I need changed correct? I hope this makes sense.
