On the Contact page of Seedcode Complete - I would like to make the Country field automatically insert "USA" upon record creation.
Using FM Pro 9, I have tried to use Manage/Database/Fields to set the Auto-enter. However, because that field is in a related table, I can't seem to locate it to make this modification.
The field address is: ContactAddrMailTo::AddressCountry.
That "field" isn't under the Contacts table and I tried changing AddressCountry under the Address table, but it doesn't seem to work.
How can I access a field in a related table to make this mod?
Thanks in advance.
Set Auto-Enter on related table field

Hey there Gwen,
You can do this the same way you'd did in previous versions: you just have to select SeedCodeData from the window menu and select Manage/Database/Fields there. The field you're looking for is in Contacts (for their main address as "AddressCountry" and in AdditionalAddresses as "Country". Hope that helps, John John Sindelar

Hi John,
I am running SeedCode Complete 1.31. When I go to the Filemaker "Window" menu section - the only thing listed at the bottom is SeedCodeComplete with a check mark next to it. There is no SeedCodeData. Am I in the wrong spot? Thanks. |

No, I just didn't know what version of the file you had. Sorry about that.
In yours we have a separate address table called "Address" and the field you want is "AddressCountry". Hope that helps. John Sindelar

Ok, getting closer...but it still won't work on the main Contact page.
If I do the New Record command on the main Contact page, the country field remains blank. However, if I click on the "more" button next to the Address heading, then click on the New Item button, it fills in USA. Is there some way to make the Primary address on the Contact page auto-enter when creating a new Record? Thanks! |

You're all set. Just start typing an address into that newly created contact and you'll see the country field pop in.
