I am looking to remove the Grid and Gantt tabs on the calendar. Is there a way to do this through setup or scripts (I did not see anything when I was looking) or is it purely a layout modification and if so, any advice on hidden portals or locked groups that i would need to know about?

Yes, it's a layout modification. We have some good docs on this here:

I would recommend just suppressing the buttons that call the objects, but leave the panels themselves in there in case you change your mind. They can be tricky to restore and won't cause any overhead performance issues if they're not "opened."

Thanks Jason for the help. I re-worked the order of the tabs and the buttons to put gantt and grid up front. I suppressed the links and will hide the tabs.
