Hey guys,
I have two questions:
I integrated the calendar complete into our solution a little while back and it's been working really well for us. There are a couple of strange behaviors that I wanted to see if I could get a handle on.
1. When multiple events are scheduled at the same time and I try to click on one of them, it attempts to open two event windows, but one gets "stuck" and flashes until I exit the script, and can't open the event I want. I'm including screenshots. Clearly, the way around this is to filter the events down until only the event I'm looking for remains, but my user base frequently won't do something that simple, so I'd like to find a way to correct this bug.
2. This isn't bad, but it's curious and I'd like to see if I can solve it. I'm not sure how my users are doing this, but they'll often end up with multiple windows off-screen that are stuck on the Calendar Source layout in Find mode. It doesn't appear to be messing anything up, but I have to clear those windows out and I'm worried they're doing something that could potentially mess up the app. Ever run into this?
Thanks for a great product!
Shaun

Hi Shaun,
Hope all is well. Hard to tell. Are you using multiple FileMaker Sources? The reason I ask is that the window on the left is on the "Calendar" layout and the ones on the right are on the "Event Details" layout. The layout we use here is based on the settings on "Source No X" layout, so something might be amiss there. I'm guessing the second issue might be a result of the first. We use that window for background script processing, but it should close when the processes complete, so something is not finishing the way it should. The windows are harmless themselves, but symptomatic of something else, and again probably related to the above. Let mw know if that helps!, Jason |

Jason,
Thanks for the help! I did indeed have multiple sources...I'd forgotten about one. Deleting it seems to have taken care of the mystery floating Source window. The other problem I discovered was related to the naming of windows. I had a script that I accidentally allowed to rename the Event Detail window, and it interacted badly with SC's scripts for viewing multiple events. Thanks! |
Great Shaun,
Sounds like you're all set, but let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers! |
