Hi,
When checking for updates the GoZyncHosted and GoZyncMobile files remain open in the background. Is there a script that can be amended to automatically close these after they have finished their tasks?
This is also causing an error when updating ("This file is locked or in use")
Thanks,
Rick

Change "1=0" to "1=1" to activate the If[] statement that immediately follows the "Close the hosted files?" comment in the "Finish Sync" script in GoZyncMobile, and edit the "Close File ["WorxHosted"]" step so it closes your own hosted file instead.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for that, when Zyncing and Checking for updates, this works perfect, However when there is an update, I still receive the error "This file is locked or in use", should this not close our own mobile file to update? Thanks, Rick |
Right, sorry. Try changing the parameter from 1 to 2 for the Install OnTimer Script step in the "Install Files ( GZMFilePath; MobileFilePath )" script in GoZyncHosted (you'll need to re-login as administrator to edit Scripts). That parameter is the time interval in seconds. Depending on a few things it might be taking slightly longer to close your files, so they might actually still be open when GoZync tries to overwrite them with the new ones. That's why you're getting that error message. A longer interval usually fixes the problem. FYI, here's an older forum post on the subject (it's slightly different as it refers to GoZync 4):

Hi Jeff,
I have made the amendments but still receive the error message. I have even tried setting the interval to 10 but after the pause still get the error. Is there anything else that I can look at? Also we need to amend the GoZyncHosted file so that our users only see a mobile version of the Downloads. Can you provide the username and password (possible by email) to access the Edit Layouts. Thanks, Rick |
We just released version 5.031 that lets you edit layouts and manage file options (via a script) in GoZyncHosted. This file is where your license is stored, so you'll need to enter your license again: very sorry about that inconvenience.
You can download the new files here: www.seedcode.com/?wpdmdl=13 I'll ping John and Todd about the "file locked" error you're getting when updating mobile files. I thought the interval change was supposed to fix that. Jeff |

Hi Jeff,
That's great, thanks, will I need to setup both GoZyncHosted and GoZyncMobile in 5.03 or can I only use the Hosted? (trying save on time) Thanks, Rick |
I'm not sure which version you're using now, but there was one new script added to the hosted file (worxHosted) in 5.02. There have been no changes in the mobile files since then. All of the updates involve changes to GoZyncHosted. So you can just take the GoZyncHosted file from the 5.031 download and replace yours with it. According to John, 5.031 addresses the "File is Locked" problem as well.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the update, I have updated our hosted file and this is now allowing us to edit layout which is brilliant. I am however still getting the "File Locked or in use" error, is the fix for this in only the hosted or do I need to update our mobile file? Thanks, Rick |
Have you tried increasing the number for the parameter on the Install OnTimer Script step in the "Install Files ( GZMFilePath; MobileFilePath )" script in the NEW GoZyncHosted file? (You'll need to re-login as administrator to edit Scripts.)

Hi Jeff,
We have tried changing the interval to 2 and also upto 10 again but this doesn't seem to make a difference. Thanks, Rick |
We haven't been able to reproduce this problem using our example files. Would you mind sending me your files so I can try to help you figure out what's going on? You can send them to [email protected] , with the full-access login information. If they're too bit to email, you can use sendbigfiles.com

Hi Jeff,
Please can you confirm that this is correct? I have checked the zip folder WinBackV3_gz and these are GoZync 5 files. Thanks, Rick |
