If the DayBack file is closed, then all the global variables that are set in the "Upon Opening" script are cleared. The "Show Event Details on Calendar..." script assumes that these variables are already set. In order to account for this, you could add the following just before line 34 (#Clear source specific variables) of the "Show Event Details on Calendar..." script to set these global variables:

    Perform Script ["Upon Opening"]

I tried that and I still get the error. I checked if the variable $$sc_UponOpening was set to "Success" and it was. So the variables should be present but the problem persists. I can see in the darkened background that the correct event did open.

Just to complete this thread for others, the issue was a typo on my part. Once I fixed that, all was working. (It was the old case of an IF statement closing with an incorrectly spelled global variable )
