PrimeApptIDX is apparently used to create the little blip that is on a date to indicate that there are appointments on the date.
What else is this field used for?
What scripts / field rely upon this field?
Is this is used as a unique id number?

PrimeApptIDX is the unique identifier in the appointments file; it is our serial number. Very important that you're appointments file have one.
You can find where this is used in scripts by printing the calendar's scripts to a PDF and searching for that field name. It is used in the following scripts... Edit Appointment Edit Appointment from Hours (in the SE version) Edit Appointment - Continue Edit Appointment - Dupe Select Repeating Yes / No Create Repetitions Show / Hide / Select Repetitions Apply Filters from Search It is also used extensively in calculations in the Calendar table.
That is really just an interface trick that allows us to display those indicators without creating a ton of calculations to do so. We simply display a field we know will be at the end of a valid relationship if there are records present, and format that number field so that it appears as an attractive indicator (a blue dot in this case). Hope that helps, John John Sindelar
