I have installed FileMaker Server 7 on an Xserve.
I can't find any documentation on what types of script files I can run from the server. FileMaker does not provide examples in the FileMaker Server Administartor's Guide. I am assuming you can schedule and run AppleScripts but what about Unix shell scripts? I have created a simple AppleScript, (display dialog "hello world!") which displays "hello world!", just as a test. I have placed the AppleScript in /Library/FileMaker Server 7/Data/Scripts folder and have created a new schedule on the server to run it, but I can't get it to run.

This is not really my thing but you might want to check the server event log to see if your script actually ran. Got that from this rather old knowledge base article: 3436
