I am using FM6.
I have fields, Start Card Qty, Qty Cards Received, Qty in File, Card Qty Balance. I would like to set up as repeating fields but the next Start Card Qty is the Previous Card Qty Balance. Is there a way other than setting each up as a different set of fields?
On line one:
Start Card Qty (manually entered as newly converted from paper log sheets) + Qty Cards Received - Qty in file = Card Qty Balance
On line two:
Start Card Qty (previous line's Cards Qty Balance) + Qty Cards Received - Qty in file = Card Qty Balance
I am trying to avoid setting up 100 or so lines with different field definitions.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Hi.
I believe these lines should be separate records, not separate repeating fields or separate lines of fields within the same record. Done this way, Start Card Qty would be a lookup of the previous line's Cards Qty Balance. You can also date each transaction to be able to determine the balance as of a certain date. John Sindelar

I thought about that. However I have log sheets for over 300 different companies. I do not see how to bring up only one accounts records.

Well, each of these "transaction records" would also have a field indicating which company / account it was for. John Sindelar
