How can I create a printout of an entire days appointments, including blank lines where no appointment has been made. I give the printout to a driver and call throughout the day to add appointments in the blank spaces. I have my schedule set for 5 minute increments, am using File Maker 10 and Calendar Pro 5.53.

Hi,

So the only thing built into the calendar that comes close to this is printing the day view as-is, which will show your gaps in the day but won't show the whole day, or printing the event list having found just that day's records. That will show your whole day but won't display the gaps.

To get both the whole day and the gaps you need to make a few changes and a new print layout just for this purpose. Here is what I'd do: make a new blank layout based on the CalendarRows table. Copy the fields from the Day tab's portal and paste them into the body of this new layout: shorten the body so it is just tall enough for these fields, then enter browse mode and view the layout as a list. If you now return to your day tab (this refreshes the calendar) selecting a new window and navigating to this new print layout should be very close to what you need.

Going further you'll likely want to make the body part taller and expand the fields so you can see more of each event: set sliding up on for these objects to collapse the height of rows without much of a description. I'd also remove the color fields from this print out.

The calendar is definitely designed to work on screen with the event list being its primary print layout, but you can probably get something pretty useful by playing with a layout based on CalendarRows like this.

Hope that helps,

John
