I love the calendar and got it into a solution for a customer. Ran a ton of tests on it but when we got it on their computers, it got stuck. Their computers are all running XP Japanese and the year is reversed. 2010/12/24. I can see in the script "Write Filemaker Records to V." and the variable being $sc_DateRangeStartDate... and I also see a script that checks the version of dates. I went in and swapped "1" to "2" thinking it was returning a 1 when it should be a 2 but that didn't help.
The easy but potential risky way to my customers system is to change the date format in XP. I did it temporarily just to get the system up and running but if they are using other software that requires that time/date format, it will cause some big issues.
Need some work on this fast. All my systems work great since they are English setup.

Hey there. A couple things to try:

1. Make a clone of the file and then re-open it on the Japanese formatted system. That may take care of it right there.

2. Edit the script "Check System formats" and set the variable $$sc_SystemFormat to 2 as the last step of the script (seems like you tried that, but I'm not sure you did it this way)

Hope that helps,

John

John, It's Ryan. Thanks a ton for introducing me to Todd. He did a great job and really fast!
Anyways, I have done both of that. And that variable didn't work. I am installing my FM 10 on my windows Parallels to see if it is a 11 issue since my Notebook is Japanese and doesn't have a problem with 10 but it is a mac. I just think that it isn't following the variable all the way. I'll post up and see. I'll also take a crack at the code but since I didn't really design it, (and there is a ton of code) it will take me some time just to wrap my head around it. If you can see something that might push me in the right direction, it would be grateful.

Hey Ryan. Yes, Todd rocks.

Just to be clear, it's an either or thing: you shouldn't change the variable if you've made a clone. If cloning alone doesn't work, and the variable alone doesn't work, you have something I've note seen before-- and we have a lot of users on Japanese systems.

You might try setting your date formats to one of the default Japanese formats instead of a customized one.

Email me directly and we can set up a screen share so I can look at this.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
