I have been experimenting with both the 'Adjust Window' and 'Maximize Window' scripts. However I can't seem to get the calendar to stop resizing the windows everytime I change layouts.

It is affecting my other layouts that I have integrated into the calendar file. I would like the calendar and all other layouts to remain maximized to the size of the filemaker program window (aside from the event detail pop-up). No smaller.

How can I go about disabling the window adjustments altogether?

In a multi-window solution in FileMaker ( like our calendar) true windows maximizing doesn't work, as the original window will not stay maximized, but revert to it's default size as soon as the second window is launched. This has been an issue with FileMaker and windows for as long as I've doing this. For this reason we always do the "fake maximized" so the main window doesn't "crunch" every time a new one is launched.

As you've been experimenting, you can see what I mean by temporarily changing the Adjust Window script step in the Adjust Window script to a true maximized.



Unfortunately, there's not an easy solution to this. It's literally impossible to keep a window maximized when launching another one, and multiple windows are a big part of how the calendar works, not only with the Detail Pop-Up, but lots of background processing as well. The only way to keep the windows maximized is to convert the calendar to a single window solution. We know of ONE guy in England who did this for a runtime, and I believe he had 40 plus hours into it to get it to work. It can be done, but not easily.

My best recommendation, and I know it's not a great one, is to allow the "fake" maximization when in the calendar, and then revert to Maximized when you return to your standard layouts. You could also do the "fake" maximization in your layouts to keep it consistent...not that great either.

I can live with the "fake" maximized screen for each individual window. However, I am still not able to do that! I'm going to go back and read through the documentation on this to see if there is something that I'm missing.
