I can probably unpick this and figure - but I know tweaking about in the tabs and various layers of fields can be tricky - I've read (most) of your very good documentation. So any help in identifying which field/ layer this unreferenced field is lurking would be gratefully received. Looks like where the event status should be? Only a problem when sidebar is collapsed. Promise I haven't done mod to this layout - it was like this.

The key to selecting fields like that is to drag-select the field from off the right side of the layout. Once you get it you can bring it to the front using the Arrange menu.

That is one of the "actual" event field and you can find more about this on the "Day View" section here:
