Hi,
I'm hoping there's someone still working in the SeedCode office, as its after 1am here and I'm stuck.
GoZync integration is done and all files are on my desktop. The Zync seems to work fine but no changes are being made on either the Hosted or Mobile files. Urgent help needed, as I need to get these files back on our remote host before the morning.

Hi Brian,
Sorry, but we're done for the day and won't be able to resolve this tonight. This log from the host and is saying it's not finding any changes on the hosted file. 0:00:00 - 0:00:00 - No changed records found: Group The log in the Mobile GoZync will tell us what's happening there if you could send that as well, and we can take a look. Setting the initial values of the timestamps in both files might resolve this and I'd also try pressing the Reset button on the lower left of the GoZyncMobile which says you haven't synced yet. If you'd like to send me a copy of your files, I should have a chance to give them a quick review tomorrow to see if I can quickly tell what's going on. Contact me at [email protected] and we can make arrangements. If it's not something simple and you need help with the integration, then we do offer that as a service as well. Thanks! |

Hi Brian,
Providing your file references are correct (that GoZync is talking to the correct copy of your files) it looks like GoZync didn't see any changes. This could be because a) no records have been modified since last sync, or b) that you need to hit "reset" in the lower left of the main screen in GoZyncMobile. It could also be that no Group records belong to the logged in user (if you're filtering your found set) Thanks for the log, btw. - John John Sindelar

Hmm, the hosted file is now updating the mobile file but only if I press the 'Reset' button first. GoZync options are set to 'round trip' but the mobile won't update the hoste file...

Please ignore the above log files, as I've made a little progress in that hosted now updates mobile but not the other way around. Email sent, hope you can help soon...
thanks Brian. |
Hi Brian,
I got the e-mail and the logs. The log is showing no changed records found on the Mobile Device. We use the GoZync fields that you added into your mobile file table: gz_ModTimeStamp, gz_Send and gz_Sent to determine what's been changed or created, so make sure those fields are there and that there calculations are correct. Let us know if that helps. |

Hi Jason,
I copied the 3 fields again and placed them on my layout to try and see what was going on. Adding a new record generates the following: gz_ModTimeStamp = 06/11/2012 17:24:39 gz_Send = 1 gz_Sent = 0 gz_TimeStampSent = Ran the Zync again and the above fields remained the same? Thanks Brian |

Copied the scripts across again just in case the implementation order made any difference but it still doesn't work.
Very disappointed with the number of hours I'm having to spend on this, not what I was expecting at all... |
Brian,
I'm sorry you're having difficulty with the integration. I offered to take a look at your files to see if I could give you some quick guidance, but you haven't sent them. We do offer integration services if you'd like us to take care of it for you. If you'd like a quote on this, I would need a copy of the files as well. -Jason |

Hi Jason,
Did you offer to look at the files by email? I've just checked but can't find anything new unless I've already deleted it by mistake. I'll send the files across to you now, I'm tired and grumpy after wrestling with this for so long and I appreciate your time and assistance. Thanks Brian. |

I really needed to get our company data back online without any further delay so I restarted the GoZync set up from scratch last night.
As of now, I have my Hosted, GoZyncHosted and GoZyncLicense database files back up and running on the remote FM server. So, the initial emergency is over as we are at least able to carry on using FM on office computers while we figure out the iPad sync issue. My Mobile and GoZyncMobile databases files are now on the iPad (local). Launching the Mobile file from within GoZyncMobile works fine so I tap the 'Zync Now' button. A login box appears on the iPad while on my computer, the GoZyncHosted 'Zync Log' screen shows that the Mobile file is connected. So far so good... I log in to the remote Hosted file using the iPad and the new record is transferred from the iPad up to the Hosted file, result! GoZyncMobile then exits. However, adding a new record to the Hosted file and repeating the above doesn't result in that record being downloaded to the iPad. GoZyncMobile exits as above. So frustrating to only have this working in one direction... |
Hi Brian,
Thanks for sending the file! The issue turned out to be that our SQL statement that was searching for changes on the Mobile side was not working since your TO name (Group) is a reserved SQL word. We've corrected this by making sure the TO names are quoted properly in our SQL. I'll be sending you back an updated GoZyncMobile file in a minute with the fix in place, and we'll correct this bug in the stock copy asap. You will want to remove the GZ fields that you have in your Mobile file the Group Layout as they will generate 102 errors during the sync. You have them at the top and the bottom of the layout so make sure they're all removed. Very sorry about the trouble here and that we didn't catch this reserved word issue in our testing. Thanks! |
