How does licensing work?
GoZync is licensed per mobile device connected; so if you have 10 iPads collecting data in the field, you'll need 10 licenses of GoZync.
These are total connected devices, not simultaneous connected devices.
Any FileMaker Pro clients you have--such as ones you're using for testing GoZync--also count as devices. Fortunately it is really easy to manage your devices.
Managing Connected Devices
Open GoZync.fp7 and click the button on the home screen to log in as an administrator; once there you'll see a tab named "Devices". From there you can see how many devices you're licensed to connect and the list of devices which have connected. You can delete devices here at any time: so if you're testing machine is taking up one of your licenses, just delete it here.
These device records are created each time a new device connects, so your deleted device will be recreated if it connects to GoZync again. In this way you can easily delete an existing device to admit a new one, rather than having to rush out and buy a new license before you can get the data from that new device.

Purchasing Licenses
You can purchase additional licenses at at seedcode.com.
Each license can be for a number of mobile devices, and your licenses add up. So if you start with a license for 3 devices, and then purchase a license for 2, when you enter those license codes into GoZync.fp7 you'll be licensed fro 5 mobile devices.
When does GoZync check for licenses?
We don't check for licenses when the mobile device sends its data to the hosted files. We wanted to ensure that such transactions are as fast as possible, so there is no license checking there: if you have a license for 10 devices and an 11th device needs to send it's data to the server, that device won't be challenged for a license.
We do check when you need to move that data from GoZyncConnector into your solution, when the mobile file downloads new data from the server, and when the mobile file requests a new version of itself.
