Hi,
I would like to buy the full version of this program - I have downloaded the free one and it is a fantastic addition to my database. I haven't done anything with FM for a year so I'm a bit rusty.
The problem is I can't seem to open the file on the Filemaker 7 Server Admin Menu. The status only shows it as closed, so it doesn't show on the 'open remote' menu. Sharing settings for the file are on. I know i'm just missing something simple in FM Server.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Si

Glad you like the calendar!
My guess is that you're server is a Mac and the file permissions (Get Info) don't allow read/write access for the fmsadmin group. So Get Info on the file on your server and check the Details under Ownership and Permissions to make sure the fmsadmin group has read / write access. John Sindelar

Thanks for your reply.
The server is HP Proliant running Windows Server 2003. The Properties for the file are set to read / write. Not quite sure what else to check. |

At this point I'd just check the basics:
Make sure the calendar is actually extracted from the .zip (can you open the file in FM client and add an appointment). And make sure you're still under the server's limit for number of served databases. If its a shared server, make sure there isn't already a file of the same name being served. John Sindelar
